the PHILADELPHIA INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL FEATURING FILMS of the GLOBAL and LOCAL INDEPENDENT FILMMAKING COMMUNITY April 28th, 2008, Philadelphia, PA: The Inaugural Philadelphia Independent Film Festival launches on June 26th - 29th, 2008. The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival will be showcasing films in non traditional venues through out the historic and thriving artist community known as Northern Liberties. All events are within walking distance of one another. With many movie-goers and movie makers planning to be in attendance and multiple events scheduled, the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival is shaping up to be a summer event you will not want to miss. Philadelphia’s Mayor, Michael Nutter, says that “The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival is another great reason to visit our historic city during the summer months. Philadelphia is a premiere movie production destination on the east coast and in 2007 Governor Rendell signed into law Act 55, a $75 million Pennsylvania Film Production Tax Credit Program. I look forward to having the film festival in Northern Liberties which has an innovative artist community, an exciting night life and great places to eat.” For more information on the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, please visit http://PhiladelphiaIndependentFilmfestival.com or call 215 592 -1242.
