Google Maps has the venue (Media Bureau) listed at (334 South Street) that address is incorrect, not sure why that is.

Tickets can be purchased and picked up at the Main Box Office  ( 725 North 4th St Philadelphia Pa 19123 ) @ Noon startng June 23. Also to those who have purchased tickets or passes online tickets will not be mailed as per what was described through pay pal. Sorry for the confusion.

Philadelphia Independent Film Festival

Opening Night: Wednesday June 23, 2010

 

 

Beginning June 23 2010, the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival will be opening its doors for the 3rd year, showcasing 5 days of today’s most talented films and film makers from around the world.  The event will run from June 21st – 27th 2010 at Media Bureau and 6 partner venues in Northern Liberties.

 

Opening night will begin with a viewing of “Auf Wiedersehen: Til We Meet Again” directed by: Linda G. Mills beginning at 6:00pm at Media Bureau (725 North 4th St. Phila Pa 19123).


Following the first screening, there will be a viewing of Slamdance Jury Award Winner “American jihadist” directed by: Mark Claywell starting at 8:00pm at Ruba Hall (414 Green St. Phila Pa 19123).

 

Opening night festivities continue with a party at Ruba Hall from 10:30pm-2am.  There will be entertainment, Festival discussions, food and drinks.  Actors and directors from many of this year’s films will be in attendance.  Ticket holders can enjoy any beer for $2, and a variety of complimentary food.  Music will be provided by soul/funk maven Jason Walker, Rock/Punk force Surgeon, and DJ The Saint spinning everything from 90’s to drum and bass.  It will be quite the celebration to conclude the evening, while simultaneously kicking off the Festival week.  Tickets will be sold for $15.00 at the main Festival Box Office (725 North 4th St. Phila Pa 19123), Ruba Hall, and online via the Festival Website.

The 3rd Annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival provides an environment for artists to engage and network with a diverse international community.  The festival is a tribute to the artists and business community that encompasses the innovation, diversity and uniqueness of movie-making.  Held in the thriving arts community of Northern Liberties Philadelphia, and centralized on 4th Street between Spring Garden Street and Brown Street, it is an event that energizes the area and industry.


With over 350 movies submitted from 30 different countries this year, films have come from all over the world. From Cannes to Sundance, from Broadway to gritty independent political documentaries - actors, directors and producers have reached out from all walks to celebrate their love for independent film.  With our lineup consisting of the 115 films, the “best of the best”, this year’s festival will be something to behold.  The festival's spirited schedule includes screenings, lectures, roundtables, workshops, music each night, meet-and-greets and special opening and closing night celebrations.  The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival is organized by Media Bureau, which is a 12,000 square foot facility in Northern Liberties that has been producing music and film content online/offline for over a decade.
