The Doors - When You're Strange.
The run has ended! A solid 19 screenings and a bold opening at Tower Investments Piazza. This doc has limits as we learned by talking to the many people who lived for this band back in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Limits in the "never before seen footage' claims that's all. Some of the comments were related to the fact that a lot of people had seen all of the Jim Morrison footage at shows. Some comments were about the sequencing ... Talking about WoodStock then flashing to RFK assasination confused some people. We thought it was for theatric effect... But this concerned people. The footage and movie making was A+ and the narration (Johnny Depp) seemed to be the guide. At times, perhaps it could have been left on it's own ... That's where the footage comes in. TOM DiCILLO did an excellent job getting this movie together and from our discussions with Richard "Abramorama" it was an experience we'll never forget. Philadelphia was represented in this Global release. Big thanks to Josh Goldbloom, the Piazza and Lauren Gagnon, Bart Blatstein, Chuck Treece, and the many others who rallied.
